Terms of Use
Effective 16 September 2026
Shallot is provided by Thomas Battaglia. By using it you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which applies to every app on the App Store.
Your content
Lists, recipes, photos and notes you put into Shallot are yours. You give Shallot permission to store and sync them, and to show them to household members you share them with, and nothing more. Recipes you import from the web belong to their authors; keep them for your own cooking.
Shallot Pro
Shallot Pro is a yearly subscription bought through the App Store. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, in your Apple ID settings. The price is shown before you buy. Introductory offers are for new subscribers. A household is Pro while any member subscribes. If a subscription lapses, nothing is deleted: the household becomes read-only apart from crossing items off, and the free limits apply until someone subscribes again. Refunds are handled by Apple.
Fair use
Don't use Shallot to store anything unlawful, to harass household members, or to hammer the search service with automated requests. Free accounts have limits on recipes and searches; they're shown in the app.
No warranty
Shallot is provided as is. We work hard to keep your data safe and in sync, and you should keep the recipes you can't bear to lose somewhere else too. To the extent the law allows, Shallot is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA.
